Sacramento-area veterinary recruiting coverage

A Sacramento veterinary search works best when the hospital address comes before the city label. Neighborhoods inside the City of Sacramento, unincorporated communities such as Arden-Arcade and Carmichael, suburban cities in Sacramento, Placer and El Dorado counties and the Yolo County cities of Davis, West Sacramento and Woodland are different workplaces under different local governments. Business Executive Group uses the employer’s role, schedule and location to scope a permanent search.

Define the actual hospital location

Name the street address, municipality and county, and keep City of Sacramento neighborhoods separate from suburban cities and unincorporated communities. The City of Sacramento’s 2040 General Plan divides the city into 10 community plan areas, and Sacramento County keeps separate unincorporated communities such as Arden-Arcade, Fair Oaks and Orangevale. Different animal control agencies serve the city, the unincorporated County and the suburban cities. Coverage on this site is limited to California; a hospital in Nevada, including Reno, falls under a different licensing authority.

Keep the working pattern attached to the location

Give the hiring team one brief for each facility, with clinical work, technician delegation, weekend duties and location commitments stated together. California asks veterinarians for 36 hours of continuing education at each renewal after the first, so state the support the practice provides. O*NET OnLine, using Bureau of Labor Statistics 2025 wage data, lists a median annual wage for veterinarians in the Sacramento-Roseville-Folsom area that is slightly above California’s and well above the national median, which is context candidates may bring to an offer. This site describes employer hiring coverage without claiming a Sacramento recruiting office.

Discuss the actual search coverage

Locations describe employer inquiry coverage, not separate recruiting offices or existing clients. Business Executive Group reviews the role and location before confirming an engagement. Final service scope, fees and screening responsibilities are agreed with the employer.

For the wider engagement, review our veterinary recruiting services and the employer search process.

Central and south Sacramento

Midtown, East Sacramento, Land Park and Pocket and Greenhaven are neighborhoods inside the City of Sacramento, which its 2040 General Plan divides into 10 community plan areas. These four sit in the Central City, East Sacramento, Greater Land Park and Pocket/Greenhaven plan areas. Give the street address and the plan area, and list any second site on its own line with its own days.

Natomas

South Natomas and North Natomas are separate community plan areas in the City of Sacramento’s 2040 General Plan, about eight and 15 square miles. The plan describes Interstate 80 as the southern edge of North Natomas and the western and northern edge of South Natomas. A Natomas address does not say which plan area applies, so state it and list any second site separately.

Sacramento County communities

Arden-Arcade, Carmichael, Fair Oaks, Orangevale and North Highlands are census designated places in Sacramento County, not incorporated cities. The County lists Arden Arcade, Fair Oaks and Orangevale among the 15 Community Planning Advisory Councils it created for the unincorporated County, and the City’s General Plan says only about six of the 22 square miles of its Arden Arcade plan area lie inside city limits. State whether the hospital is inside the City of Sacramento or in the unincorporated County, because different animal control agencies serve each.

Cities in Sacramento County

Citrus Heights, Folsom, Rancho Cordova and Elk Grove are incorporated cities in Sacramento County. The City of Sacramento’s Animal Care page lists a separate animal services agency for each of them, with its own address. The hospital’s street address and city, not the word Sacramento, show which jurisdiction applies to the role.

Placer County

Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln and Auburn are incorporated cities in Placer County, and Granite Bay is a census designated place there. Roseville names the Placer SPCA as its contract shelter, Lincoln contracts with Placer County Animal Services in Auburn, and the Census lists North Auburn as a separate place from Auburn. Use the hospital’s street address and city, not a county label.

El Dorado County

El Dorado Hills is a census designated place and Placerville is an incorporated city, both in El Dorado County. The City of Sacramento’s Animal Care page lists El Dorado County Animal Services in Diamond Springs as a separate agency. El Dorado Hills covers about 48 square miles of land in the Census Gazetteer, so the address matters more than the name.

Yolo County

Davis, West Sacramento and Woodland are incorporated cities in Yolo County, across the county line from the City of Sacramento. Yolo County Animal Services in Woodland is listed as a separate agency, and the University of California, Davis campus is its own census designated place. A campus address belongs in the brief separately from a city address.

Check the work location and recruiting scope.

Use the City of Sacramento 2040 General Plan community plan areas, the Sacramento County Community Planning Advisory Councils page, the Census Bureau California place-by-county file, the Census Bureau 2025 Gazetteer for California places and the City of Sacramento animal control agencies and shelters list to distinguish municipalities, neighborhoods and the actual work address. Confirm the actual hospital address with the employer, especially when a common name such as Midtown, Land Park or Natomas differs from the official plan area name (Central City, Greater Land Park, North Natomas or South Natomas) or when a community such as Carmichael or Fair Oaks is a census designated place and not an incorporated city.

Market context on these pages is attributed to California Veterinary Medical Board continuing education regulations, California Veterinary Law Examination information, California Registered Veterinary Technician applicant information, California Veterinary Medical Board licensee manager responsibilities, California Veterinary Medical Board premises inspection program, California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substances Permit forms, UC Davis Weill School of Veterinary Medicine residency information, O*NET OnLine veterinarian wages by area, O*NET OnLine veterinary technician wages by area and O*NET OnLine veterinary assistant wages by area. These are third-party and state sources, not BEGHR claims.

For the service itself, review BEGHR’s permanent veterinary placement service and placement scope and milestone billing. These pages describe employer recruiting coverage, not separate local offices. Geography sources do not establish candidate availability or placement results.

Plan California credential checks before the start date.

Use the DCA License Search for the California Veterinary Medical Board for the relevant professional record. The Board’s license page describes the search, and each record shows whether a license is current, expired or subject to disciplinary action. Assign a person to verify status, record the date and resolve questions with the Board. Check any additional specialty credentials required by the employer with the issuing organization.

For a candidate moving from another state, review the California Veterinary Medical Board’s veterinarian applicant information. Applicants who did not graduate from UC Davis or Western University of Health Sciences must also complete the California Veterinary Law Examination, an open-book test on the California Veterinary Medicine Practice Act. Do not treat an out-of-state license or a preferred start date as confirmation that California requirements are satisfied. The Board determines eligibility and timing; BEGHR does not issue licenses.

If the role depends on technician delegation, confirm registered veterinary technician status through the same search. For related references, see the Board’s RVT registration requirements and the Board’s continuing education regulations and the Board’s licensee manager responsibilities and the O*NET California wage table for veterinarians, which reports BLS 2025 wage data.

How milestone billing works

Follow the search.
Understand each invoice.

Recruiting is billed for work performed within your agreed fee range, with progress reviewed at defined search stages. BEGHR manages your account and invoices; the recruiting team handles sourcing, screening and candidate delivery.

  1. 01

Kick off and agree the billing plan

Define the role, clinical requirements and candidate profile. Confirm the fee, billable milestones, invoice schedule and payment terms in your client agreement before work starts.

  2. 02

    Build qualified candidate leads

The recruiting team sources prospects and screens them against your brief. Weekly calibration reviews candidate quality, the pipeline and any changes needed to the sourcing strategy.

  3. 03

    Approve candidates; billing begins

Review qualified candidates and confirm which meet your criteria before interviews. BEGHR’s published process starts billing after applicants are sent; your agreement defines the billable work, milestones and amounts.

  4. 04

    Interview, select and hire

The recruiter coordinates interviews, candidate communication and offer support. You select the hire. BEGHR invoices on your agreed cadence, at least monthly during billable service delivery.

Know what you are paying for.

This is hourly, pay-as-you-go recruiting within an agreed fee range, billed as work progresses. Completed billable work may be payable even if no placement is made. Your client agreement sets the range, billable milestones, amounts and due dates.

Employer questions

Veterinary recruiting questions

How does milestone billing work?

Agree the role, estimated fee range, billable milestones and payment terms before the search begins. Recruiting uses an hourly, pay-as-you-go model within the agreed range. BEGHR’s published placement process starts billing after applicants are sent. Invoices follow the agreed cadence, at least monthly during billable service delivery. BEGHR handles client billing and account questions.

Do we pay if a search does not result in a hire?

Milestone billing pays for agreed work as the search progresses, so completed billable milestones may still be payable without a placement. Your client agreement specifies the billing triggers, amounts, due dates and any cancellation terms.

Where can we see our placement price?

Select your role, complete the hiring questions and submit your employer contact details through the pricing form to receive an estimated fee range. BEGHR confirms the role classification, final fee and payment milestones before you engage the service.

How long does placement take?

BEGHR’s placement timeframe is 23–55 days. Timing depends on the role, candidate availability and the employer’s hiring process.

How does BEGHR pricing compare with contingency recruiting?

BEGHR offers placement at typically 50% less than contingency recruiting and 50% off second and subsequent hires for the same role. Use the pricing form for an estimate and confirm your fee and repeat-hire eligibility before starting.

What fill rate does BEGHR report?

BEGHR reports 86% fill rate on active searches across its placement service. This provider-wide figure is not a city-specific or veterinary-only result and does not guarantee an individual hiring outcome.

Who receives my employer inquiry?

Business Executive Group receives your contact information, selected roles, qualification answers, placement estimate and the originating website and page through its existing BEGHR lead intake. This is an employer inquiry, not a candidate job application.

How are placement fees confirmed?

The instant-pricing form uses BEGHR’s role categories and current retail ranges to show an estimate after you submit your employer details. The provider confirms the actual category, scope, payment milestones and commercial terms before a search engagement begins.

Does a listed community have a separate recruiting office?

No. Community coverage describes the location of a potential employer search. It does not represent a local office, an existing client or a claim that a candidate is already available.
